MEG is well established among the firms that specialise in surface treatments
and more specifically in the field of machinery, systems, products and
technologies for the washing process: a field currently calling for both
specific, ad-hoc solutions, tailored to the user's needs, and for universal,
environment-linked solutions. Our firm is a valuable partner for those
looking for a practical solution for a washing problem, be it new or due
to the need to comply with the current environment-protection regulations.
The proposed solutions therefore include machines and equipment using
either water-based and solvent-based detergents or such innovative speciality
products as hydrofluoroethers (HFE).
As is well known, the solution to most washing problems still is a solvent-based
product, while the new European rules set forth that as of 2002 these
detergents shall be free of any ozone-harming substances, such as HCFC-141b.
As a consequence, our company developed a line of standard machines running
on the new hydrofluoroethers HFE products; these ensure similar results
to those achieved in the past with CFCs while accounting for workers'
safety and environmental safeguard.
The main properties of these products are chemical and thermal stability,
low surface tension, low viscosity, excellent penetration, low toxicity,
zero ozone-destroying effects; they are non-corrosive, compatible with
the more current materials, have a high boiling point and low evaporation
heat, require little energy to maintain the operating temperature, dry
rapidly and are non-flammable.
The most commonly used basic machine runs a four-stage treatment cycle:
